Jalani Blankenship is a versatile American actress based in Tokyo whose work in theater and film spans internationally. A graduate of the University of California, San Diego with a BA in Theatre, she brings a rigorous academic foundation to her presence and emotional depth on stage and in film.
In San Diego, she had the opportunity to perform at The Old Globe and in the La Jolla Playhouse WoW Festival in new and immersive theatre productions.
Blankenship is one quarter Japanese, and moved to Japan to rediscover her family’s roots and culture. Unable to part from acting, she has continued her career in theatre, film, and TV in Tokyo.
Her artistic practice emphasizes collaborative process, physical storytelling, and the transformative potential of performance.
